Manchester United have emerged as unlikely suitors of unsettled Milan striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, according to the Daily Mail.
The 26-year-old only joined Milan in the summer in a £13m transfer from Spanish giants Real Madrid, but he has failed to make a sustained impact.
Huntelaar has made just five starting appearances for the Rossoneri and his two goals in Serie A came in one game against lowly Catania.
The Holland international has so far failed to convince Brazilian trainer Leonardo who is unlikely to drop No 1 target man Marco Borriello.
United are looking to add a physical presence to their attack both to complement the more silky skills of Dimitar Berbatov and to take the heat off Wayne Rooney.
However, the Reds apparently face competition from Steve McClaren's FC Twente who would like to bring Huntelaar back to Holland on loan.
