Galliani frugal on transfer market
Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani doesn't deny promising the fans a new striker, but insists one will arrive in June, not January.
The Rossoneri have been strongly linked with Goran Pandev over the last week, as they look to cover Ronaldinho and Alexandre Pato.
However, it now appears David Beckham and Dominic Adiyiah will be the only reinforcements in the upcoming transfer window.
“It's true. I said that a new player would arrive with similar characteristics to Pato and Ronaldinho, but we are talking about next summer, not in January,” Galliani explained on leaving a meeting of the Lega Calcio in Milan.
“We already have three strikers,” he concluded.
Pundits feel the Rossoneri could do with another target man as Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has failed to offer adequate competition to Marco Borriello up front.
Leonardo has tended to play the same starting XI every game, injuries permitting, so far this season, but players will obviously have to be rotated over the course of a long campaign.
